Life begins at 40 or 45?

About a year ago, I lost my husband to a heart attack (will write about this another time, when I have the mood) and suddenly found myself single all over again. Tomorrow I will turn 45 and I am reliving my single life. My friends are envious of me, since I have no children (will also write about this when the mood arrive *grin*) thus I have no responsibilities. If I choose not to come home, so be it, I will choose which BFF house to stay in.

Right after the loss, my friends took turns to accompany me almost everyday as they do not want me to succumb to depression. As I look back, yes, I am blessed with a few close friends who are at my feet whenever I need them, albeit of some opinion differences. They took me holidaying in PD, JB, Melaka, during the weekends or karaoke sessions until dawn to ensure I was not alone. Earlier, I was afraid to enjoy myself as I want to be seen and known as the grieving widow but later when I found out about some really really hurtful truth, I shake of everything and slowly begin to enjoy my life. So, the journey begins......

I found myself on a shopping frenzy and begin to shop like a mad woman. I changed my working closet, cut & coloured my hair, and at one time, went to a MJ warehouse perfume sale and bought thousands worth of perfumes and lotions (ok, thats a lot to me). Almost everyday in the eve, or even lunchtime, I will be checking out some favourite boutiques in malls for my working baju. All my colleagues (especially the makcik tudungs) noticed the change in my dressing and begin to talk behind my back, BUT I DONT CARE. When a little bird whispered in my ear that they are gossiping about me, you know what is my reply, "EH, LAKI AKU TINGGALKAN AKU DUIT MILLION, KORANG APA SUSAH" ha, kan dah kena.. But my boss, a typical chinese man, is very happy with my change and commented yes, I did the right thing by moving on and not living in my past.

To be continued...

Very well considering the circumstances. Chin up and the fight must continue. When I was a schoolgoing kid, I used to naik bas sekolah and pergi Wardieburn Camp Setapak, I remember a big sign kat pintu masuk Camp and it said "Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban", an Iban saying that means, Selagi Hidup Selagi Itu Melawan !
